Overview

Mines is the crypto casino take on Minesweeper. You bet, pick how many mines to hide on a 5×5 board (1–24), then reveal tiles one at a time. Each safe tile boosts the multiplier. Hit a mine and you lose. Cash out any time. The only real decision is when to stop.

How to play Mines

Choose number of mines (1–24). Fewer mines = slower multiplier growth, safer reveals.

Place your bet. Mines are placed deterministically from HMAC-SHA256 before you reveal anything.

Click a tile to reveal it. Safe tile = multiplier increases. Mine = round ends, bet lost.

Cash out at any point to lock in current multiplier × bet.

Once the round ends (mine hit or cashout), the mine positions are revealed for verification.

The math

Multiplier after k safe reveals with m mines: (1 − houseEdge) × C(25, k) / C(25−m, k). With 3 mines, 5 reveals = 1.92x. 10 reveals = 5.56x. All 22 reveals = 2,640x. Probability of clearing N tiles drops geometrically — the exponential multiplier growth exactly compensates, keeping EV flat at 99%.

Strategy notes

→3 mines is the sweet spot: 5–8 reveal cashouts happen often enough to stay engaging, deep runs are still possible.
→Pre-commit to a cashout reveal count. Emotion-driven 'one more click' destroys the EV advantage of discipline.
→Mine positions are random — there is no 'pattern' to read. Any streak you see is confirmation bias.
→High mine counts (10+) produce big payoffs fast but brutal variance. Bankroll needs to handle long losing streaks.
